Proverbs 2
The Book of Proverbs is a compilation of wisdom for all who will take advantae of the instructions contained therein.
Wisdom, like curative medicine, is only good when applied. Having your Bible lying conveniently on the coffee table is like medicine in the cabinet; accessibility is not effective until properly applied.
In Proverbs 2, Solomon instructs those who are willing to be taught, showing that the diligent use of the knowledge from God will bring great advantage by keeping one from evil and giving direction toward that which is good. We are told in this chapter, how to get wisdom and how to use it once we have it.
It contains a Condition and shows the Consequences as seen in the use of the words, "if" and "then". If we will receive (take in) the wisdom offered by the LORD, then the consequences of then will follow.
Note the intensity of the verbs in this passage. They suggest an urgency and purpose, not just a lackadaisical attitude of "whatever".  Wisdom, properly sought, will bring about desired results. Right destinations come from right pathways.
The words to "The Way of the Cross Leads Home", written by Jessie B. Pounds and the music by Chas. H. Gabriel will help us remember the Condition and the Consequences of walking in wisdom's path.
