James 4:13-17
Because we do not know what a day may bring forth; because life if fragile and tomorrow is not promised, we must live today as it were borrowed time. Ps 90:9-10 reminds us... 9 For all our days are passed away in thy wrath: we spend our years as a tale that is told. 10 The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. KJV Time is not our own, as we often think, nor are we in control as we assume. Therefore, time ought be invested rather than spent. Invested in things eternal rather than temporal. We are admonished in Matt 6:19-21 19 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: 21 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.KJV How? We must invest in people by seeking their spiritual growth. We must do all the good we can to all the people we can for as long as we can. We must instruct by teaching, invest by giving and intercede by praying. Phil 1:9-10 9 And this I pray, that your love may abound yet more and more in knowledge and in all judgment; 10 That ye may approve things that are excellent; that ye may be sincere and without offence till the day of Christ; KJV Time cannot be saved, but it can be redeemed. Time can be either spent or invested. We are given only so much time, so we must use it wisely. Avis B.
