When a believer is struggling with spiritual sickness, he or she should call on the elders of the church to come and pray, confess their sins to God, and then live a righteous life.

A “rich person” will weep and groan when Jesus returns to Judge those who have mistreated others. When a believer tries to be his or her own god, it leads to them speaking evil against other believers and having a false sense of self-sufficiency in their lives. In order for believers to avoid being adulterers and enemies of God, they must humble themselves before God by recognizing that they are indeed sinners in need of a savior. They also must resist the devil by refusing to be corrupted by the world and ultimately draw close to God. The dangers of an uncontrolled tongue, which is described in scripture as a “restless and evil” beast, is that it can cause a lot of pain and hurt for anyone in it’s path. A believer who has true, genuine saving faith will give evidence of that faith through works. Otherwise, it’s a worthless, dead faith. Believers cannot rightly represent the new creation they have become if they continue to show favoritism toward some people over others. Instead, they are called to live by the “Royal Rule”: Love your neighbor as yourself. Christians can begin to live in a way that rightly represents the new creation that they’ve become by listening to God’s Word and living it out in obedience. The core design of every single person that ultimately leads to them giving into temptation is the desire to be their own god and do things their own way instead of God’s own way. In order for believers to become complete in Christ and receive a crown of life, they will need to ask God for wisdom during the times of trouble that they will experience. |
