Every person must choose either to obediently follow Jesus and true teaching or to disobediently follow their own path and false teaching, a choice with eternal impact. Because God is a good Father who desires to answer persistent and expectant prayers, we are able to treat others as we want to be treated. To judge others without examining and correcting oneself first is hypocritical and foolish, but it is biblical and wise to discerningly judge those who abuse God’s message. We do not have to worry or be anxious about anything because God is on His throne, and He will take care of all our present and future needs. Devote yourself to God alone and gain eternal treasures in heaven because all other pursuits will fail you. Our prayers should be directed to our Father, focused on the concerns of our Father, and filled with the needs our Father can supply. Giving, prayer, and fasting should be done sincerely before God, who gives eternal reward, instead of hypocritically before people, whose reward fades quickly. Loving our enemies is proof that God is our Father and that we are like Him, and it is a necessary part of our pursuit to be perfect like Him. Knowing that God sees our words and actions, we must speak truthfully instead of falsely and act graciously instead of vengefully. |
