Knowing that God sees our words and actions, we must speak truthfully instead of falsely and act graciously instead of vengefully.
Lust is adultery of the heart and must be passionately guarded against so that it doesn’t lead one to hell. Divorce and remarriage lead to adultery except when they occur because of sexual immorality, and they should be rare among God’s people because he desires reconciliation.
God’s people must live at peace with others and seek to reconcile broken relationships lest they have an evil heart that God will judge.
Because of the lordship and authority of Jesus, the Scriptures proclaim him as its central message, are completely trustworthy, and require obedience and righteousness from the heart and spirit.
Jesus calls His disciples (and us) to be faithful witnesses of his transforming power through holy living and worldwide proclamation.
God’s people can delight in their call to live differently, knowing that true blessings come from submission to and dependence on God who will reward them as they become more like Jesus.
